In my service, I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for my clients, when offering sessions in all settings. I have conducted a comprehensive risk assessment to ensure that I can deliver my services effectively while addressing any potential risks.  

Here are some of the measures I have implemented: 

Confidentiality 

I have taken steps to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of my clients. I have  designated a private and secure area within my home where counselling sessions will  be conducted online. I maintain strict confidentiality and employ secure methods for storing and handling client records and information. 

Safety Measures 

I have assessed all working environments to minimize any potential hazards. I have and will maintain appropriate safety measures, including maintaining clear access and  paths, and adequate lighting in space utilized for sessions. I have also taken measures to minimize interruptions and maintain a quiet and comfortable setting. 

Technology and Data Security 

I use google meet for conducting online sessions. My computer systems are equipped with up-to-date antivirus software and firewalls to protect client information. I ensure that all electronic communications and data transmission are secure and compliant with applicable privacy regulations. 

Please be aware that if you bring a device such as an iPhone/Android phone or smart  watch into our sessions, I cannot guarantee that the devices will not be listening, putting  complete confidentiality at risk. I cannot guarantee that your devices will not be  listening and gathering data on topics we discuss.   

Emergency Preparedness 

I have established emergency procedures in case of unforeseen circumstances or  emergencies during a counselling session. This includes having contact information 

readily available for emergency services and maintaining a clear line of communication  with clients during sessions. 

Professional Development and Support 

I continuously engage in ongoing professional development to enhance my skills and  knowledge in providing sessions. I actively seek supervision and consultation to ensure the highest quality of care and address any challenges that may arise. 

While I have taken these precautions to mitigate potential risks, I also  acknowledge that no environment can be entirely risk-free. I encourage open  communication with my clients and welcome feedback on any concerns or  suggestions regarding safety and risk management.
